About the Pub
Step back in time to a friendly village local where conversation is king. The building is grade II listed, rebuilt in 1885 by the Southdown & East Grinstead Brewing Company, and it is likely the interior has changed little since then, including the public bar retaining a wood blocked floor. Hence its inclusion in the CAMRA national inventory of historic pub interiors (https://pubheritage.camra.org.uk/). A simple interior and warm welcome means that locals, hikers and dog walkers can be comfortable, enjoying the beer and occasional music nights, at which you will be encouraged to sing along. A quiz is held on the second Tuesday of each month. No food is served.
