But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

A sister pub to the Green Man, but on the north side of the City Centre. Once the White Swan, the Mucky Duck opened in its current format in July 2012. It started out as bar catering for sports fans but now attracts a mixed clientele; however it does get very busy when major sporting fixtures are shown. It has a long frontage with the bar to the left of the entrance. Two beers from the Greene King stable are complemented by a guest beer. There's a mix of bar stools, tables and comfy chairs in a number of different areas. Simple home-cooked food is served at lunchtime and in the evenings using local produce. There is now an outside bar with T.V.

Historic Interest

17th century with later additions. Once effectively the brewery tap for Winchester Brewery which was taken over by Marston's in 1923 and subsequently closed. Originally 'The White Swan', it was nicknamed the Mucky Duck for many years before that became its official name in 2012. Grade II Listed. Historic England list entry 1095312.
