About the Pub

Somewhat hidden in the back streets, this classic pub started life as a cider house and only became an ale house at the start of the 20th century. The lounge and public bars were combined into one around the turn of the millennium but the pub maintains much of its Victorian charm.

A lovely community ambience where accompanied children are welcome up until 8.30pm. Plentiful buses about 330m away on Shirley Road, or the S2 on Foundry Lane. The garden is an urban oasis to enjoy a pint of real ale, and also hosts the pub's beer festival. The pub has two cribbage teams, a fortnightly quiz.
