About the Pub
The Georgian Crown Tap was formerly an autonomous appendage to the Crown Hotel (q.v.); a broad, arched carriageway evinces its coaching past. It now revels in the status of a pure pub, unencumbered by the serving of meals or snacks*. The walls of the bar and lounge area are adorned with old-style advertisements for detergents, comestibles and other goods. A separate room is home to a pool table and dart board, and there is outdoor seating to the rear of the pub.
* Just prior to lockdown a kitchen was being built so we do expect food to be available post lockdown.

18th century with 19th century alterations, originally part of the Crown Hotel. Grade II listed. Historic England list entry 1157282
