About the Pub

An ex Enterprise Inns pub that closed on 06/03/17 with Enterprise planning to sell it and redevelopment feared. The locals campaigned to save it and got it listed as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) giving them the right to bid to buy the pub. The community supported Thirstee Business company bought the pub in September 2017 and planned reopening was for 5th November 2017 but the new owners have decided on a full refurbishment first and opening was delayed for over tow years while the pub went through a major enlargement - plans submitted to Eastleigh Council show a large extension to the rear of the pub doubling its size. Reopening date was been fixed for 14th February 2020 but this has been pushed back a little bit. 5 Handpumps are promised.

The following description pre-dates March 2017: Located in a dip between two villages, known as Lapstone Bottom. The building was originally two cottages built circa 1740 and has been a hostelry for over 100 years. Inside, a single bar serves a split level drinking/eating area. Outside at the front is a lawn area with benches. At the rear is a patio/garden with tables/chairs, plus a covered patio area with comfy sofas.
