NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub
Just set back from the waterside at Hamble. The pub comprises one bar, an outside terrace overlooking the steep High Street and separate dining rooms. One end of the terrace has level access from the High Street and the other steep steps down to it. Inside the Grade II listed pub there's a stone flagged floor, and walls a mixture of bare brick & oak panelling. Entering from the terrace, the bar is directly in front of you and with bar stools this makes a convivial drinking spot. Much of the rest of the pub, with its cosy alcove to the right behind the fireplace, a dining room to the left and a small private dining room upstairs, is given over to the pleasures of eating. Use public car parking. The lower part of the High Street is narrow so you may be better off parking uphill at the square. Run by the Ideal Group, who also run the White Horse in Otterbourne.
Historic Interest
Parts of the building apparently date from the 14th-century and it has been a pub since the 19th-century. A mid 2000s planning controversy nearly saw it all converted to apartments with more built on its car park. The 'Save the Bugle' campaign succeeded in saving most of the pub though the quayside bar & car park were still lost to developers. Grade II listed, Historic England List UID 1204283, and the listing says it all dates from early 19th century.
