About the Pub

This large residential hotel, originally built in 1840 to serve the adjacent railway and formerly linked to the station platform via a footbridge, was badly damaged by fire in 1997, but has been recently restored to its sumptuous glory. Outside it has a stone facade, whilst the interior boasts moulded ceilings and oak panelled walls.

After a period of closure in 2019, the Queen reopened at the end of November. Initially at least two rotating ales will be provided, hopefully to be expanded as trade allows. Bed & breakfast accommodation will resume shortly followed by a full menu - more details when known.
