About the Pub

This 17th Century pub has a traditional layout of bar, snug and tap room. It re-opened in December 2012 as a freehold real-ale pub serving 8 hand-pulled ales. It has quickly become popular with local drinkers and those from wider afield. All the pub company trappings such as fruit machines and TVs have been removed, giving a back to basics feel. Food is limited to top quality pork pies as per the good honest boozer ethos. The bar area has a log burning fire set in an original Inglenook fireplace. The walls have various displays of beer mats from many now-closed breweries. There is a beer garden at the rear which is covered in winter with a heater, and has a children's' climbing tower. An annual beer festival is held in August. Darts and Dominoes are available.
