Notice: Many venues are affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and need your support more than ever. Please be aware that restrictions apply in many areas so opening hours may be different to those displayed here, and some venues may be yet to re-open at all. Before visiting, we strongly advise you to call or check its website or social media to avoid disappointment.

Venues in Scotland are subject to special restrictions, which vary across the country. In the Central Belt (Including Arran and parts of the Southern Highlands) all pubs and most other licensed premises will be closed but may still be offering takeaway services. In other areas they can open but can only serve food and non-alcoholic drinks inside from 6.00am to 6.00pm. Alcoholic drinks can however be served in outside areas until 10.00pm. These restrictions will be in place until Monday 2 November.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

Updates

Re-opens on the 15th of July. See website for details.

About the Pub

Popular Wetherspoon at the far end of Shawlands Arcade in what used to be Safeways supermarket. It is named after the former owner of the nearby Pollok House and Park and furnished with bookcases and pictures and stories of local historical figures. There is a quieter area up three steps at the back which is very popular with families especially in school holidays.

Real ales are normally available on at least six of the ten handpumps (after 11am). There is often a good selection of dark and light beers, with both traditional and newer breweries. Brewery trips and meet the brewer events are often organised by the pub.
