About the Pub
Set in beautiful countryside, this multi-roomed 19th-century (1860) free house is easily accessible from the train station, and forms part of the rail ale trail along the Tarka line connecting Exeter and Barnstaple. It offers three changing local ales, usually from Cottage, Cotleigh or Hunters, and an extensive food menu based, as far as possible, on locally sourced produce. Many traditional games are played, such as, boule, crib, darts, dominoes, pool and skittles. There is a large children's play area in the garden, and dogs on leads are welcome. The real cider is Thatcher's Heritage.
