Notice: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

A lockdown is currently in place in mainland Scotland, and you are required by law to stay at home. However, some hospitality venues can still provide takeaway and delivery services.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

A 200 year old Inn perched on the Ale Water (yes really!). Parts have been upgraded but the front bar (beware the sliding door!), with a real fire, remains virtually untouched since 1906 retaining pine panelling throughout. There is also a comfy drinking/dining area with additional snug at the front. Owned by Born in the Borders Brewery, food features strongly with local produce that is sometimes foraged with a 'Plough to Platter' ethos matching the Brewery’s 'Plough to Pint' philosophy.
