Most of Scotland is currently at level one or two, and the restrictions in place will depend on the area you are in. Many pubs will only be open for customers who have pre-booked.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

About the Pub

Superb pub run by the same family since 1858. The bar and snug are traditional with a wooden floor, wood panelling and mirrors from defunct local breweries. The attractive gantry is topped with old casks. The more modern lounge opens at the weekend. The real ales, mostly pale and hoppy, change very regularly. The real cider is Black Rat. CAMRA Edinburgh Lothian Pub of the Year 2020, and winner of many previous awards. See the wall of the bar!
