About the Pub
"Nestled in the small village of Fir Tree, surrounded by beautiful countryside and right on the doorstep of the Durham Dales. Just a 10 minute drive from Bishop Auckland and only 12 miles from the City of Durham, we are ideally situated to take advantage of the many local attractions and historic sites in our region.
After a major refurbishment lasting over 18 months The Fir Tree Country Hotel, bar and restaurant reopened its doors in July of 2017. There has been a bar on the site for well over 120 years now, which has become a landmark in the village and surrounding area. The bar stocks a wide range of beers, lagers, and ciders, along with two cask ales which are on regular rotation.
We welcome you to our beautiful, new surroundings, whether you’re having a meal in our restaurant or just a quiet drink in the bar, and we feel confident that your first visit will not be your last".
