About the Pub

An excellent unspoilt pub in a grade II* listed building dating from the 17th century. The pub consists of three small rooms: parlour, old kitchen and main bar where gravity dispensed beer and cider is served from the small counter/hatch. No car park but on-road car parking is not a problem in this small isolated village.

As of April 1st 2019, the weekend opening was extended to all day between April & October.

Cobs, soup and hot savoury pies available on all weekends.

Fish & Chips and pizzas can be ordered in for delivery on Friday evenings.

Historic Interest

An inn for 200 years and the layout has remained undisturbed, originally a Yeoman's Farm House built in 1840 as a residential property, it was first licensed in 1750.

This pub serves 1 regular beer.

Changing cask ales

This pub serves 4 changing beers.

Guest beers from 10 local breweries e.g. Blue Monkey, Dancing Duck, Burton Bridge, Thornbridge and Peak Ales,with 4 to 5 being available at a time. Pricing is simplicity itself with all beers sold at the same price irrespective of ABV.
