About the Pub
The Tavern lies on the old Nottingham Road and once close to an arm of the Derby canal and also the Nottingham Road station of the Midland Railway. Hence the pub's former occupation as a station hotel.
The pub is finding its feet after it has been extensively and expensively redecorated [June 2016] and opened up to one large L-shaped bar. New toilets and bar transferred from old location. Attracts pool players.
