NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

Opened October 2016. This is the first venture for All Our Yesterdays, the new company formed by Jonathan Heyes, owner of Port Street Beer House, and Paul Jones, co-founder of Cloudwater Brew Co. The pub sits on the site of Manchester's first steam mill and is notable for having all its interior's fixtures and fittings made by volunteers. The single room is L-shaped with the bar in the left corner and tables and chairs arranged in rows down the right next to the large glass windows. The outside drinking area encompasses part of Sadler's Yard . This is a public square and event space in Manchester, England. It is the first new public space to be created in the city centre since Exchange Square in 1996. It was opened on 4 December 2015.

There are three cask beers with Track Sonoma being a regular. and 14 beers served from the taps on the back wall.

Historic Interest

The Pilcrow was the first Public house to be purpose built as part of the Cooperative Society's commitment to regenerate part of the City following demolition of the Crown and Cushion public house to make way for a new public road which was demanded by the building of a new Cooperative Society HQ in Manchester. The building is now owned by the City Council due to Financial Failures of the Coop Bank.
