About the Pub

An atmospheric unspoiled house that has been awarded several commendations and has appeared in the Good Beer Guide over several years. One of the very few pubs with entrances on two main streets, however, the entrance on New Road is not in use, so you will have to use the one on King Street. Rooms are on two levels, with high class food, coal fire, outside seating and relaxing ambiance all adding up to an experience not to be missed. Unspoilt, traditional, olde-worlde pub, crammed full of memorabilia, popular with locals and visitors alike, and where dogs and muddy boots are made equally welcome. Comprises a small atmospheric public bar, where a real fire burns for most of the year, and a large family/dining room. Quiz night is on Sunday, with RnB on Monday and folk club on Friday. Access to this part of the village is not so easy for the less able-bodied.
