About the Pub

Family run Village pub. A regular entry into the Good Beer Guide with 6 real ales and a real Cider, all on handpump. Evening and lunch menus including gluten free dishes. The stone flagged bar area caters for walkers, boaters and dogs whilst the snug, lounge and restaurant area cater for families and children. There is a front patio area and beer garden to the rear. There is a Music Festival at the end of May and a Real Ale and Cider festival at the end of August. Free wifi, quiz and music nights plus sports TV complete the picture.

In 1850 he pub was owned by a John Dutton and the landlord was John Prince. The pub predates both the Shropshire Union Canal and the Nantwich to Market Drayton Railway and is located on what was then the Market Drayton to Nantwich turnpike road. The pub name relates to Stapleton Cotton, the first Viscount Combermere.
