About the Pub

Community-focused village pub, recently refurbished to a high standard with innovative touches. Current great offer: first drink £2 per person per day, must be ordered at the bar. Applies to pints of beer, lager and cider, also wine and soft drinks. This is in direct response to CAMRA's report that people were finding pubs too expensive.

Well-designed garden with some high-tech heating. A pleasant place to drink or eat, with cosy armchairs, sofas and an open fire. A small range of groceries are sold. The separate snug with its soft furnishings is a good place for kids. See the website for the lunch and dinner menus and special offers. Last bus back to Canterbury is 1658 Mon-Sat, 1639 Sun (check with Stagecoach for changes). Happy Hour, with 20% off all drinks at the bar, is 5.30pm to 7.30pm every day except Saturday, and except special events such as quizzes and live music. There are 3 or 4 beers. Harvey's IPA and Sussex Best rotate. It's worth joining the pub's Loyalty Scheme for some excellent discounts. Local branch Pub of the Year 2019
