Updates

Opening July 4th. From Facebook:
Hello and countdown to Saturday has begun. Emma is back and we are cleaning the pub to within an inch of its life and adjusting it to conform to the social distancing requirements.
However, as you know we are very small so will be making full use of the garden and back terrace area.
We can't wait to see all of our regular customers again, but please bear with us whilst we get used to this new way of trading.
When you arrive we will need to take your name and phone number or email address. This is in line with the Government's Track and Trace requirements. We will keep them for 21 days after which they will be destroyed.
We have a one way system in operation and at certain times, will show you where to sit. However, we know that all our regulars will use their common sense and behave accordingly.
We are not sure how busy or quiet we are going to be so if you want to come at a specific time it might be best to book especially if you want to eat.
Anyway enough of the jargon here are this week's specials.
Oh and we will continue the take-aways for the foreseeable future.
Pheasant and smoked pigeon pate with Cumberland sauce and toast £6.00
Pickling spice chicken curry, rice, poppadom, chutney £10.50
Steak and Kidney pie, vegetables, choice of potatoes £10.50
Smoked ham and sausage lentil stew with mustard and seeded sourdough bread £10.50
Whole Lemon sole, parsley butter, vegetables, choice of potatoes £13.50
Salmon steak, samphir, tarragon butter £13.50 - so popular last week, just had to keep it on.
Warm banana bread with ice cream
Spice poached peaches with cream
Pecan pie
Sticky toffee pudding
All £5.00
All of the above will be available in the pub as well from Saturday lunchtime.
Getting excited now, stay safe,
Liz.

About the Pub

Built in 1865, this charming red-brick pub nestles in a pretty valley and is well worth the short detour from the A2. The back bar is a good place for a chat or a game of darts, while the front bar is more used for imaginative food. There is a heated and covered area for smokers and a small, pretty garden. A ramp is available for wheelchair users. Monday is sausage and mash day, Thursday is fish and chips.
