About the Pub
Closed on 12th January 2020. The pub is expected to reopen, but It is not known when.
A 17th, possibly 16th century building, the Green Man was first recorded as a pub in 1847. Complete with low ceilings and oak beams, there is a single L shaped bar and off to the right a separate restaurant area which caters for weddings and other parties. Turning left from the entrance leads round to a general seating area, the toilets and a back area which contains the wood store. Just outside is a recently built sheltered seating area. Further on is the long narrow garden which reaches down to Grantchester meadows making the pub accessible from Cambridge by punt. Home-made food using local ingredients served lunchtimes and evenings. It has been under the current enthusiastic ownership since re-opening in December 2009. Guest beers are often sourced from regional and local micro breweries and usually include a dark beer and a higher gravity one. Live music Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. The pub featured in the TV series Grantchester.
