NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
A nationwide lockdown is currently in place in England, and you are required by law to stay at home. Hospitality venues can still provide food takeaway and delivery services, but can only sell alcohol by delivery service.
But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.
If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub
The pub has been through many changes since the days when it was run by the notorious Squire Tickell: a copy of the (probably incomplete) list of the sort of people who weren't welcome in those days can be found, framed for posterity, over the piano in the back room. Since he passed on, it has changed hands more than once and had some periods of closure, but has now found its feet since reopening in 2012 under the same team that run the Cambridge Chophouses and the Cock in Hemingford Grey. Though food-oriented, drinkers are more than welcome as well. There are two doors marked 'pub' and 'restaurant', and although they lead into the same long bar area, that echoes the layout within. To the right is the main dining area, overlooking a large garden with an impressive ornamental pond, and a number of tables screened by shrubbery, while to the left is the drinking area, including a quiet back room, a verandah and another pleasant garden. There is also an outdoor drinking area at the front. Dogs are allowed in the pub side and children are welcome at lunchtimes. Guest beers are ever changing but often include ones from local breweries.
