About the Pub

Sturdy 19th-century brick building fronted by an impressive sward for outside drinking and children's amusement. The pub consists of four distinct areas one of which is given over to dining. The main bar area has a brick and tiled floor, high backed settles and a brick fireplace occupied by a fine cast-iron stove. It has been extended into the former cellar, the real ales now being served by gravity from behind the new low bar. Their two regular beers, Adnams Southwold Bitter and Ghost Ship, are served direct from the cask. The guest ale is served through a handpump. All ales are good value. The food is freshly prepared from local produce and offers quality and value. They hold a music & beer festival on the late May bank holiday Monday.

This former Greene King pub is owned by Conington Pub co.

Historic Interest

The current, 1850 built, building replaced the former pub that had been established by 1765.
