About the Pub
Large grade II listed building dating back to the 17th century with original wood beams. A central island bar has seating areas around it and there is a dining area to one side. There is further seating in an additional room and a separate restaurant has been developed in a restored and renovated barn. The accommodation consists of five rooms in a newly built detached block. Live music on the first Saturday of each month. There is a house beer: Red & Black, brewed for here and the sister pub (the Red Lion, Hinxton) by Nethergate Growler brewery. Woodforde's Wherry is a regular. The two guest beers are generally East Anglian. Both the pub and its excellent pies have recently won awards from other organisations. As well as lunchtime and evening food, breakfasts are also served everyday.
