About the Pub

Popular canal-side pub that supports local breweries.  Many of their real ales are local and there is one real cider.  The pub is particularly popular in summer with customers arriving by road and by narrowboat.

The bar, with its six handpumps (always three + cider, but more in busy periods), occupies about half of the long narrow building and the other half comprises the restaurant with open view to the kitchen where all meals are freshly prepared. The 2020 refurbishment gives a clean and fresh look, with exposed beams.

There is plenty of seating along the side of the locks with more tables and chairs both on the large decking area to one side of the building and in the front.

Boaters are welcomed, with good and quiet mooring just below the locks. 10% discount on food is offered to card carrying Inland Waterways Association members.
