About the Pub

Reopens with garden service on 12 April.

Local CAMRA Pub of the Year - A 15 minute walk from the centre of Buckingham takes you to the town's oldest pub. A cosy atmosphere is enhanced by a real open fire as well as a new log burner in winter.

As a free house, the Mitre has changing and interesting beers, featuring guests from all over the UK as well as local breweries. It also features two craft ale taps. Serves rotating still ciders on the fifth handpull over the summer, but reverts to beer in the winter.

The pub supports local charities and charity Football and cricket matches. It supports the local football and rugby clubs and has its own darts team.

Major sporting events are shown on the five large-screen Sky and BT TV and, if games clash, different matches can be shown at once. The pub also has a beautiful new piano which landlord Pete will regularly jump on to sing a few songs and many locals also play. Pete bought the pub in May 2017 and since then the toilets have been refurbished and a new oak bar and a new cellar chilling system installed with all new pipework. The land behind the previous garden has been extended and re-landscaped.
