NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Under this stage of the roadmap in England pubs can only open outdoor areas and many will only be open for customers who have pre-booked. Alcohol can now also be sold for takeaway, as well as delivery.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

Open from July 4th. Mon-Fri 4pm-10pm, Sat & Sun 12pm-10pm. Food (pizza only) served until 9pm. Walk-ins for drinks allowed (first come, first served) but booking advised for food.

About the Pub

Large pub adjacent to the main A650 road and built within an old tramshed (which was also the pub's former name), originally constructed in 1904, and is popular for drinking and dining. Formerly the Hop and the Old Tramshed, this establishment was refurbished and rebranded at the end of January 2019 although it is little changed from its previous incarnation. The premises comprise a large open-plan main room with an upper mezzanine area primarily used for dining and a room offset to one side of the ground floor as a restaurant area. As part of the Ossett Brewery, the four regular ales are from its range. There are also additional beers from the newly-opened, in-house SALT Beer Factory as well as regional guest beers often from the sister breweries, such as Fernandes and Rat. Wood-fired pizzas are available, for eating in or takeaway, and can be seen to be prepared from the main bar area. The large outdoor seating area is popular in good weather. A challenging quiz is held on Tuesday nights. Live entertainment is performed on Friday and Saturday evenings. At the rear of the building at both levels are accesses into the adjacent SALT Beer Factory (see separate WhatPub entry).
