About the Pub

The pub is situated high on the hills approximately 1 mile west of Cullingworth and on the A629 Keighley to Halifax road. It has a semi-open plan layout and has a rural feel befitting its location. The interior is primarily laid out for dining although drinkers are also welcome. There is a large beer garden and children's play area. Three real ales are available. These often vary and often feature local breweries. A traditional Sunday lunch is offered. Various food and drink events are held and details can be found on the website. The name of the area is derived from the "flay pits" that used local spring water for tanning hides. The towns of Haworth and Keighley are a relatively close by and where visitors can experience the nostalgia of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. Closing times may vary depending upon the demand.
