About the Pub

Between 1853-83 this was the Albion, where John Barraclough & Co. brewed ale and porter. Always being refurbished with change of ownership as it was once a Yates Wine Lodge. Comfortable seating. Previously it was Brooks Bar. It became the Castro bar and was a typical town centre pub with an open-plan interior. During a visit in December 2014, it was noted that this pub has closed and is offered for sale.

The pub closed in 2014, and changed into a games and coffee bar (Fun Town) in 2017, and then the Arabesque Street Food Restaurant in 2018.
