About the Pub

Extensively refurbished in 2013, the Prince of Wales is a smart, friendly village local served a single bar. The pub's layout consists of a main area for drinkers, a separate area suitable for diners and a skittle alley that doubles as a function room. Outside there is an attractive beer garden to the rear and, alongside the pub, a paved outdoor drinking area, which forms a pleasant sun trap on warm summer evenings. With many home-grown teams, the Prince participates in local skittle leagues, and the skittle alley is often in use during weekday evenings. The menu comprises a wide range of traditional pub food including Sunday lunches. Meanwhile the guest beer is sometimes an additional beer from St Austell, such as HSD or Proper Job, but quite often will be from another brewery altogether. Guests have included main brands such as London Pride, Bass and Courage Best, but quite often beers from local micros, such as Mole's and Twisted. The real cider range can vary but normally includes Weston's Old Rosie, Black Rat, Somerset Tree Shaker and Somerset Snuffler and ciders from Natch. Dilton Marsh station is just under a mile from the pub in the Westbury direction. Bus stop (services to Westbury and Frome) almost opposite pub.
