Updates

Open again July 4th. Please note that pubs will not be able to offer the same services and facilities that they usually do, due to Government guidelines regarding making pubs Covid-secure. We recommend checking with each pub’s online presence before visiting for the first time. Please support the hospitality trade responsibly by showing patience and following Government guidance for your own safety, and that of pub staff, customers and the wider community.

About the Pub

One of the oldest buildings in the town, and with a real cellar, this former stationery shop, then briefly a wine bar, which was converted into a pub at the start of 2014 by Dave and Gilly, formerly of the Grapes, almost opposite. There are seven beers, all served on handpump and mostly from the West Country. The beers can be unusual for the area and often include dark or strong choices. The pub has three linked rooms with assorted furniture, a jukebox and TV. Also a pleasant rear garden. A selection of freshly made rolls is available at lunchtimes. Upstairs is "Gilly's Gin Bar" serving over 200 different gins including several from "Still in Sodbury".
