About the Pub

An old coaching inn dating back to the 15th Century this 28 roomed hotel had a major refurbishment a few years ago and the public bar is now a very upmarket meeting place. Winner of the branch Food Pub of the Year 2013, one of the partners is Graham Tinsley, head of the Welsh Culinary team, so naturally excellent food, made from the finest local produce, is served in the bar and restaurant . The beer is also local coming from the nearby Conwy brewery and the cider is also Welsh supplied by Gwynt-y-Ddraig. Dogs are allowed in guest bed rooms, the outside drinking area and the snug. CADW Grade 2 listed since May 1976 for "its special architectural interest as a C19th. commercial building, with earlier origins, of definite character, with well-preserved and distinctive late C19th. detail to the front, and for group value within the historical townscape."
