NOTICE: Venues need your support more than ever during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Under this stage of the roadmap in England pubs can only open outdoor areas and many will only be open for customers who have pre-booked. Alcohol can now also be sold for takeaway, as well as delivery.

But please be aware that opening hours and services may be different to those displayed here. Before visiting or ordering from any venue, we strongly advise you to check its website or social media, or get in touch with them first to avoid disappointment.

If you see any details here that need updating, please let us know by submitting feedback on the pub.

About the Pub

This 15th century building was originally three cottages, saved from demolition in 1927 when bought by a local resident for £900. Once the Museum of Sussex Folklore, this Grade II listed building has been a quality restaurant since 1987. Starting with one hand pump in 2011, there are now 4 pumps on the bar selling a good selection of ales in great condition. As well as the regular ales, there are frequently changing guest ales, one of which is usually a dark ale.

Customers are welcome to drink without having a meal, although the bar menu is good value and some options include a drink. The secluded courtyard garden is great for the warmer weather.
