About the Pub
In 2015 the landlord set up a two barrel brewing plant, which was used to brew Ness Ales' Humphrey's Tipple. However the venture only lasted a couple of years. The brew was named after Humphrey Kynaston, Shropshire's answer to Robin Hood, whose ghost is said to pay the occasional visit! One can even visit "Kynaston's Cave" in the Nesscliffe Country Park which is close by. Noted footballers Bobby Charlton and Duncan Edwards were based at the nearby Nesscliffe Army Camp during their time in National Service in 1956.
Once owned by the Wrekin Brewery of Wellington and later Greenall Whitley.
